Lisa Pavinato, PhD

Postdoc

Lisa completed her BSc and MSc in Medical Biotechnologies at the University of Turin. In 2018 she started her PhD in Medical Genetics, which was partially done at the University of Turin with Professor A. Brusco and partially at the Uniklinik Köln (Köln, Germany) with Professor B. Wirth. She mainly worked in the field of neurogenetics, trying to unravel the genetics behind neurodevelopmental disorders. During her PhD she has been awarded with a DAAD research grant for her stay in Germany and with a DMM conference travel grant; she presented her work at several conferences as an oral presentation and she was finalist for the Charles J. Epstein Trainee Awards (ASHG 2021) and Early Career Award (ESHG 2022), and winner of the best oral presentation at SIGU conference 2021.

She is currently continuing to work with Professor A. Brusco as a postdoctoral researcher, and she has been awarded with an EMBO Scientific Exchange Grants to stay some months in the group of Professor A. Baggiolini to work with forebrain organoids models.

In her free time, she loves to read, travel and explore new places. 

Stefan Schneider

Stefan was born in Zug. He completed a BSc in Biology and then a MSc in Biology, both at University of Zurich. In his master studies, he specialized in Cancer Biology and studied how cells overcome genotoxic events to maintain genome stability. 

During his free time, he enjoys bouldering, playing the drums, spending time in nature and meeting with his friends and family.
